I have been with Diagonal for over 4 years as a Finance Controller for Diagonal (and the Business Applications Services division of Morse).
My role involves managing the finance department for Diagonal Consulting Ltd and also supporting the finance teams in other areas of the business. I work closely with people from all areas of the business including directors, sales and consultants, as well as external contacts including clients and auditors.
The culture of Diagonal is very inclusive and informal and I have always felt I was part of the business rather than just someone offering back office support. My role and that of the finance function has grown and evolved over the years, both through natural change and the opportunities given. In 2007 I took 6 months maternity leave and now I work 4 days per week on a flexible basis. This allows me to continue developing my career whilst balancing it with family life. We also offer study support to employees looking to gain professional qualifications in finance, and the majority of the team in finance have been with the company for over 3 years.
